Objective: 

Course Objectives:

After completion of this course, the students will be able to:

 

  1. Develop an understanding about “Education” and the related concepts
  2. Examine the ideas of prominent Indian educational thinkers which provide a philosophical basis for contemporary education policy and practice especially with reference to aims and values
  3. Understand the relation between education and values
  4. Understand the vision of Education in India and get acquainted with the objectives of different commissions/policies constituted in India post-independence.
  5. Question and debate issues around the aims of Education in India
