Report on "Building Teaching Competencies Programme”

The  Department of Education organized  ‘Building Teaching Competencies Programme” for semester VI students of B.A.B.Ed and B.Sc. B.Ed between 25 January, 2019 and 08 Februrary 2019. The objective of the  programme was to provide them hands-on experience in simulated conditions and reduce the complexities of real classroom conditions to prepare competent teachers.

The programme was conducted in small groups where students were classified in groups based on their teaching subjects.   During this programme, the students were given practice on assimilation of different teaching skills, teaching methodologies and techniques of classroom management The students received continuous feedback from the subject in-charge which enable them to subsequently improve their teaching competencies by reducing their numbers of errors.  The 15 day programme proved to be highly beneficial for the students and adequately prepared them to teach confidently in real classroom situation.
